Quick Tip: Small Fan Error
Walk Through of How to Fix a Small Fan Error on the Quickcakes Pancake Maker
While not uncommon, the Small Fan Error on your QuickCakes machine typically indicates a mix spill or something obstructing the small intake fan blades. It can also mean there isn’t enough airflow around the left side or back right side of the machine. This video walks you through how to diagnose and fix the error.
Common Symptoms
- “Small Fan Error” message on the display
- Evidence of a mix spill inside the machine, especially around the metal housing unit of the small fan
- Overheating message or machine is hot to the touch
Troubleshooting Steps
- Press and hold the power button to perform an emergency power stop
- Open the mix chamber and remove the bag of mix
- Remove the splash guard from the unit and turn it over
- If you see remnants of pancake batter, wash it out thoroughly
- Inspect the small fan housing unit — with the splash guard removed, you can now see inside the top of the machine and the metal cage that houses the small fan
- Make sure nothing is stuck inside the housing unit
- Use a can of compressed air to spray the small fan blades, making sure they spin freely and are unobstructed
- Turn the machine on and confirm the small fan blades are moving
- If the blades are spinning, place the splash guard back in position and let the machine warm up
- If the error is resolved, the machine will warm all the way up and prompt you to load a bag of mix
