Quick Tip: How to Reset Left Axle

Walk Through of Resetting The Left Roller Axle

If one or both of your belts are not turning it could be because one or both left side axle pins are out of place. This video walks you through how to reset the left side axle. This should only be done when the equipment is off and cool to the touch. The process is the same for the top and bottom burners.

Common Symptoms

  • One or both belts are not turning but right-side rollers are.
  • Belts turn but when mix is poured on them they either struggle or stop.
  • Belt is sliding towards the front of the machine and offline of the rollers.
  • Tension lever won’t fully move or move easily back and forth.

Troubleshooting Steps

  • Open the front door of the equipment.
  • Release the white anti-roller from the burner frame and release the tension by sliding the tension lever to the left.
  • Remove the Teflon-based cooking belt from inside the equipment.
  • Reinsert the white anti-roller back into the burner frame and reapply the tension by sliding the tension lever back to the right hand side.
  • Remove the two metal lug nuts that secure the burner to the equipment. If necessary, use pliers to loosen the lug nuts.
  • Remove the entire burner and roller assembly from inside the equipment by sliding it out. Some force may be required to release the connection prongs from the back of the equipment.
  • The metal axle that runs through the center of the large roller needs to be reset to ensure it’s going through all four guide holes and extends through the back of the frame.
  • If possible, move the tension lever to the lower slot on its track so the metal axle going through the large roller lines up with the half circle in the frame. Then remove the metal axle by pulling it out.
  • Take note of the four guide holes the metal axle needs to go through. There are two in the front before it goes into the roller, and two more in the back after the axle goes through the length of the roller.
  • Reinstall the roller by lining it up, pushing the metal axle back through the first two guide holes, through the length of the roller, and then through the back two guide holes on the frame.
  • Once reinstalled, lift the tension lever from the slot it was in and move it to the right. Doing this should expand the tension spring and move the roller to the left.
  • Reinstall the burner/roller assembly into the equipment by placing it on the arms and pushing in. Give the assembly a good, hard final push into the equipment so the connection prongs in the back are fully seated. The screw holes where the lug nuts go should be completely flush with the sides of the frame.
  • Replace the lug nuts and hand tighten them.
  • Reinstall the belt by releasing the white anti-roller from the burner frame and releasing the tension by sliding the tension lever to the left. Replace the belt and reapply the tension by sliding the lever back to the right.
  • Finally, put the white anti-roller back into the frame and close the front door. The equipment is now good to go.
