Quick Tip: How to Resolve Heater Errors

Troubleshooting the Heater Error on your QuickCakes commercial pancake maker

Heater errors on the QuickCakes pancake maker can sometimes be fixed by simply reseating the affected burner. Whether it’s the top, bottom, or both heaters, the error can possibly be rectified by following the steps in this video.

Common Symptoms

  • Heater error on the display for top, bottom, or both burners
  • Machine won’t complete the warm-up cycle

Troubleshooting Steps

  • Turn off the equipment by pressing and holding down the power off button until the equipment performs an emergency stop and completely shuts off
  • Open the front door of the equipment to expose the burners by pressing in the latches under the lip of the front door
  • Once cool to the touch, remove the lug nuts from the burner you want to reseat
    • You may need to use a pair of pliers to loosen the lug nuts
    • Take note of the screw holes where the lug nuts go — it is extremely important that the sides of the burner frame are completely flush with those screw holes before replacing the lug nuts
  • Release the top burner from the back of the equipment by pulling in an outward motion on the front frame of the burner
    • Some force here may be necessary
  • Give the burner a vigorous push back into the equipment ensuring the screw holes are now flush with the burner frame
  • If the screw holes are flush with the burner frame go ahead and reinstall the top burner lug nuts and hand tighten them
  • The process for the bottom burner is the same but first remove the crumb tray from under the bottom burner
    • Remove the lug nuts for the bottom burner
    • Release the bottom burner from the back of the equipment
    • Give the burner a good hard push back into the equipment ensuring the screw holes are flush with the bottom burner
    • Reinstall the bottom burner lug nuts back into the equipment
  • Reinstall the crumb tray by sliding it under the bottom burner ensuring the black plastic squeegee is facing up
  • Shut the front door and power the equipment back on
    • If it completes the warm-up cycle and eventually displays “Load Bag Now” then “Close Lid,” the heater error has been successfully resolved
